How about a little something to lift those winter blues?

Swim deep are a Birmingham four piece, you may not have heard of them but they’ve just layed down their first full length record.

In their words, Swim Deep have said they sound like Duran Duran mixed with One Direction. And they’re being serious. To me though, they capture the sound of the summer, of lazy afternoons and midday sunshine – with a bottle of beer in hand of course!

Definitely a breath of fresh air, and a very good mood lifter for this long winter we seem to be stuck in the middle of right now!!

Their new single ‘The Sea’ is out March 4th, here’s a little look at single for you all:

Tango In The Attic Return!!

2010 saw the release of debut album, Bank Place Locomotive Society, by Tango In The Attic. Forward two years and the Glenthrothes four-piece are BACK and will release their second album on April 12th.

It was a while from their debut release, but after taking time to work on other projects, the band regrouped in October 2011 and started work on their as yet untitled second album. The band also head out to the US for a small tour and then back to the UK from May for relentless gigging alongside a single release in March, album out in April and then next single out in May.

As a little taster as to what to expect on their second outing, Tango In The Attic have done a live video session for brand new track, Swimming Pool. It’s a blissful, fuzzy, shoegaze affair of a new addition to the bands already flourishing catalogue.

VIDEO: Bronto by Baddies + Album Release Date & Tour Dates

You might remember at the beginning of December I unveiled the return of Essex noise merchants, Baddies. They came back with first track Bronto and are giving it away as a free download.

Bronto is a welcome return and a small taster of what to expect on their second album, Build, which is out on the 5th March through Medical. To coincide with the album release, the band head out on the following UK dates.

Free Download: iAm1 – Whispers

Now I get genuinely excited when I hear that this unique and very talented duo are making music and something new to treasure. I have written about iAm1 in the past, a slight name change once or twice, but Ollie Rose and Jamie Wallace are back. Emotive, powerful, gritty and hard-hitting lyrics, combined with moments of serene folk driven music.

So the new song is ‘Whispers’ and a special acoustic version of the track is available for free, you only have to do one thing, just ‘Like’ their page - http://www.facebook.com/iam1music It’s not every day you get to have some incredible music for free, so I would highly recommend getting involved and experience this wonderful band.

They have an EP being released earlier in the year, which Whispers is just a taster for. To follow on from that I believe they will release their debut album later in 2012. To say ‘I can’t wait to hear it’ is an understatement that’s for sure. For the release they have made a very special acoustic only session of the song.
