Video Of The Week: ‘Hopscotch Machine Gun Madness’ – A Genuine Freakshow
Wacky song title, oooh the kookiness! Ah come on, don’t tell me just for a second you looked at the title and went, “na, not for me thanks” . Well pre-conceptions aside, I have stumbled across an absolute beautiful gem of a music video in the glorious shape of ‘Hopscotch Machine Gun Madness’ by A Genuine Freakshow.

Basically there are some kids, they dress up like crazy warriors and attack some other kids. It’s a post-apocalyptic Bugsy Malone on speed essentially, but what fun it is to watch! The song too is wonderfully big in scope and captures an innocence that any band with 7 members would struggle to do. Orchestral dreamy pop but with a hazy sensibility that, dare I say that, is reminiscent of Suburbs, there I said it!
