Celebrating all things Geek, it’s the Geeks website first search for the Geek Of The Year. The event which is taking place at The Underbelly in Hoxton on Tuesday 30th November, will be a night filled with awards, comedy and music.

If you’re not familiar with the site, let me give you the lowdown. Well not so much the lowdown, but at least an informative guide on what to expect. The website blurb…

Started in July 2009, geeks has quickly evolved from a gadgets and tech website to covering music, film, comedy as well as maintaining our love for gadgets and computer games.

Headed up by a team of award-winning journalists, geeks is a magazine portal to help discerning fans of music, gaming, film and tech stay on top with witty articles, in-depth reviews, previews, news and listings.

The site started by Chris Bishop back in July 2009, has fast become the go to online magazine portal for reviews and features on everything from Music to Gadgets. With talented writers and a heaving forum of regular visitors and readers, it’s driving ambition from both Chris and Editor in Chief Ally Millar, makes this a must for anyones ‘Favourites’ tab.

The ceremony will have an 80s Geek chic theme and will be hosted by Fringe regular Tiffany Stevenson. Not only that but both Adam Bloom and fresh young comedian Carl Donnelly will also be doing sets on the night too. Music will be provided by none other than Indie upstarts Ex Libras and the Badge Of Friendship DJs will be spinning the tunes in between.

I thankfully have my invite and I am looking forward to the event very much so. Also not to be missed, will be this lot tweeting their way through the evening too….

@cpbishop – Chris, @allygeek – Ally, @sourmashmusic – Myself :) and also @weeclaire – Claire, Founder of A Badge Of Friendship

So that is Tuesday 30th November at The Underbelly in Hoxton, it’s going to be a Geeky 80s Love Affair!
