Euphoric, enigmatic and above all, gutsy emotional rock, I present to you London’s own Union Sound Set. The 5 piece who originally formed much hyped ‘Prego’ are now going under a different guise and have a debut album release on the horizon.

The band are set to release their first album proper on the 24th October through Mighty Atom Records, of which I have had the pleasure of listening to already and yes it is an absolute joyous record to experience. First single off the album however is the sublime ‘Hiding Places’ which is available from the 27th September.

Big sounding with the power of the ten thousand behind it, it packs a poignant and sensitive punch that should escalate the band to dizzy post-rock heights. Brilliantly produced by the wonderful Guy Massey too who has helped the likes of Spiritualized and Manic Street Preachers behind the desk. Just for you guys I have the video right here for you to enjoy and hopefully love as much as I do.

The band have set the date for the launch of Hiding Places on the 27th September, tickets can be purchased via their Facebook Events Page and as a treat you get a free MP3 download too! How nice are they.

They are also set for a UK tour which is starts next week with their single launch at the Camden Barfly and then moving on to play around the country. For more info head on over to their official website for dates and venues.

  1. Great band and great to see somebody recognising their promise to deliver an outstanding debut record. Just one question: Do any of today's journalists use Spellcheck or ask someone to proof-read their articles before they're published?
